19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with long-term trainer Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his initial title since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.

The win also signifies Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.

His counter-punching approach and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was over.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.

Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he earned the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
